It essential that communities be prepared to meet the needs of a health and medical disaster whether it is man-made or naturally occurring. The Litaker Group has experience in:- Evaluating health and medical preparedness capabilities at the local, regional, and state-levels;
- Developing strategies, policies, procedures, and recommendations to improve health and medical disaster response activities based on national standards;
- Applying Joint Commission standards to disaster response policies and procedures at the hospital-level;
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of health and medical response activities to such disasters as Hurricanes Katrina and Rita;
- Developing a comprehensive five-year strategic vision for health and medical preparedness activities for the State of Texas;
- Conducting a comprehensive assessment of current health and medical preparedness capabilities in Texas; and
- Facilitating breakout sessions at an U.S. Department of Health and Human Services-sponsored pandemic influenza conference in Austin, Texas.
