Emergency Planning and Exercises
Emergency response planning involves the identification of numerous activities that must be taken to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from a potential hazard. Our sister company, the Contingency Management Consulting Group, has extensive experience in managing and developing emergency response programs for government and industry -- including the nuclear, chemical, petroleum and other industries. These consultants have hands-on experience and are knowledgeable in developing programs under high regulatory visibility, as well as ensuring that programs continually meet appropriate regulatory and industry standards.CMCG has assisted clients in:
- The development of integrated contingency plans (one plan or all-hazards plan);
- Facility response plans to meet Oil Pollution Act requirements;
- Comprehensive disaster operations plans for government agencies;
- Radiological emergency plans; and
- A myriad of other special plans or procedures to address evolving risks, such as terrorism and weapons of mass destruction and procedures for dealing with suspicious substances.
Consultants with our sister company have extensive experience in designing, developing and conducting tabletop exercises, functional drills and full scale exercises to reinforce expected actions under simulated emergency/crisis conditions. These activities focus on the needs of the organization as well as the need to enhance individual skills and abilities. Evaluation criteria are used to pinpoint areas for improvement, provide positive feedback to the response organizations and serve as a basis for input into the organizations training process.
